The education he recieved provided a solid background for his professional career. After graduating from dental school, Dr Bozart participated and graduated from an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency. This residency provided the opportunity to explore more complex and diverse patient cases. He states, "while UNC provided a solid academic foundation, the AEGD residency gave the clinical skill and confidence through treating difficult cases in all areas of dentistry".
After graduation, Dr. Bozart fulfilled a military obligation. Dr. Bozart attended UNC Dental School on a full military scholarship. He agreed to become a US Army dentist after graduation in return for the military paying for his education. He states, "this turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life". While on active duty, Captain Bozart treated numerous soldiers at Fort Gordon and Fort Benning, Ga. Often, Dr. Bozart found himself being the first dentist for numerous basic trainee's. He states, "I often look back at that time and feel proud. These young kids needed a lot of dental work, were often scared, but I was able to help them regain confidence through rebuilding their smiles. It was a great time."
After leaving active duty, Dr. Bozart entered private practice as an associate in Wilmington, NC. Their family chose to move to Wilmington, NC because they have extensive family in the area and their children love the beach. The private practice experience was very rewarding for Dr. Bozart. ![]() Philosophy
At Bozart Family Dentistry our philosophy is to provide comprehensive dentistry to all patients. This means explaining all available options to every individual and having the patient make an educated decision with regards to their treatment. Dr. Bozart understands that what the textbook recommends is not appropriate for every patient. He states, "the textbook does not take into account the patients situation. The textbook fails to recognize financial or time constraints, personal desires, fear, etc."
Dr. Bozart tries to develop an understanding of the patients desires, situation, and personality to help establish an individually appropriate treatment plan. He believes every patient should have a well established relationship with their healthcare provider. This lends itself to better understanding, trust, and personalized treatment.
